We had initially planed on releasing update 1.3.1 as a very minor update to add the last few features we hadn't gotten around to adding for version 1.3. But as we've continued to work on the update it's become clear that the update has grown big enough to earn the title of version 1.4.
The game is now feature complete for what we consider to be the "jam version" of the game. Development on Obscuroid will continue, but we do not plan to update the game further until the release of version 2.0. (Unless we find the need to release a patch in the form of version 1.4.1)
- Fully reworked the main menu.
- Polaroids now "char" when the player almost has the polaroid lined up.
- Added the soundtrack "Obscuroid Main Theme" by DaYeet_
- Redid the topology of almost every model in game, increasing performance drastically.
- Added a pause menu and a simple settings menu.
- Gates and levers now light up green if they're powered.
- Portals should no longer be able to crash the game or your gpu.
- Added ember particles to polaroids.
- Added steam particles to mugs.
- Fixed the final polraoid not showing the desk in front of the gate on its picture.
- Changed the first polaroid in level 2 to now show the gate being open instead of closed on its picture.
- Fixed the gate blocking of the lever in level 3 not lining up with the hallway.
- Puzzle 2 can no longer be skipped. (again)
- Gate sfx now plays with a random pitch, to make it more clear when there's multiple gates.
- Fixed the elevator animation not playing properly
- Added some slight post processing
- Added contact shadows to ceiling lights
